inspiriens 01The Emerald Window Decorator is a custom window decorator shipped with Compiz Fusion that allows for theming and full composite window decorations with the use of engines.

In my case I was using the "Radial 0.3" theme created by Aceph, but recently I've been customizing it a little, changing the default settings and making new coloured buttons.

I think the result is good enough to share it so, if you are interested you can download it form this link :: inspiriens 01 ::

The theme is released under the GPL. I hope you like it. Bye

I've finally finished the spotlight and I've used it as an element in this wallpaper created for Ubuntu Studio, the linux distro I use. It's an ubuntu derivative focused on multimedia (audio, video and graphics) that includes a realtime kernel for audio.

I've also used the jack I made for the icon posted some time ago.

Everything has been created using inkscape, blender and the gimp.

August has ended and here we are in september. A moment of change and reboot. maybe it's better to begin with minimalism and try to face things the simplest way.

I've began making a wallpaper for ubuntu. The image was created using inkscape, blender and the gimp.

If you want to download it, you have a bigger version (1680x1050) in the Galleries, Wallpapers section.

See you

Yesterday I was working on this keyboard wrapped around a sphere with Blender. It's an object that I'm going to use in a 3D scene, but I've thought that it would also work well as a wallpaper and this is the result. The background was made with the Gimp.

It seems that soon we will return to the moon or at least that is discussed in scientific circles. The discoveries of water and helium-3, plus the possible future use as a basis for rocket construction and launchpad, appear to be sharpening their teeth to some who have almost prepared the paperwork for the plots they will own.

In the end, knowing that humans are as we are, it would not be surprising a slight reluctance of the moon to be inhabited, hence the title of the image: "What do they want now..."

Since the moon is a "kids tale's moon", as the star, I thought of incorporating the Tintin rocket as the vehicle to go straight to it.

What do they want now...

All the modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering was done with blender 2.54, the last beta available today.
The Gimp was used to merge it with the earth, that is a photograph from a japanese satellite that orbits around the moon, the moon and star glows and the rocket propulsion.

The image is also available at the 3D gallery, "Others" section.

Hope you like it.

These are some icons I've made in 3D for some programs, because I disliked the one provided as default or because I wanted a high-res version. They are, from left to right:

- Ardour: A multichannel digital audio workstation that comes with ubuntu studio.
- Jack: A sound server also included in that distro.
- Qsynth: A fluidsynth GUI front-end application. Fluidsynth is software synthesiser based on the Soundfont specification.
- VirtualBox: A general-purpose full virtualizer for x86 hardware.
